ONAM CELEBRATION 2K25

I reached school at 9 am and signed the attendance register. As part of my responsibilities, I undertook discipline duty to ensure that the programs went on smoothly. The school was vibrant with the spirit of Onam, and various cultural programs were organized by the students. They showcased their talents through songs, dances, and skits related to the festival. We too joined in the celebrations by singing an Onam song, which created a festive mood among everyone.

A class-wise Athapookalam competition was conducted, and the beautifully decorated floral carpets reflected the creativity and teamwork of the students. Alongside the cultural events, traditional Onam games such as vadamvali (tug of war) were held, which brought excitement and enthusiasm to the celebration. One of the highlights of the day was the teachers’ performance, where they presented a lively dance that added joy and togetherness to the occasion.

By 12 pm, the Onam sadhya began. We actively helped in serving the feast to both teachers and students, ensuring that the traditional meal was enjoyed by everyone. The sadhya brought a sense of unity and celebration as everyone shared the meal together. After lunch, the remaining programs continued, and the entire celebration concluded by 3 pm.

Overall, it was a day filled with cultural richness, teamwork, and festive spirit, making the Onam celebration at school a memorable experience
