The much-awaited ‘Kottarakkara Documentary & Short Film Festival’ was held, offering an inspiring platform for cinema lovers and aspiring filmmakers. As part of the festival, ‘Chalachithra Classukal’ (Film Classes) were conducted on 31st January 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sree Vidyadhiraja Balagopala College. These sessions aimed to deepen the audience’s understanding of cinema and its cultural impact. Dr. Jithesh Kumar delivered an insightful lecture titled ‘Ithihasaparindhanam Malayalam Cinemayil’ (Evolution of History in Malayalam Cinema), tracing the historical and cultural journey of Malayalam films. Sri Aneesh Anchal conducted another enriching session, ‘Cinemayude Vyakaraniam’ (Grammar of Cinema), exploring the language, structure, and art of filmmaking.
The event poster creatively reflected the theme of the festival, featuring portraits of four notable personalities linked to the program and incorporating cinematic imagery such as a microphone and a film camera, symbolizing the fusion of sound and vision in cinema. Adding to the charm of the festival, Arya was given a special opportunity to sing a poem, delivering a heartfelt and melodious performance that touched the audience deeply. Her presentation brought an emotional dimension to the event, perfectly complementing the festival’s artistic spirit.
