As part of the B.Ed curriculum, our Department of Social Science conducted an awareness-based digital activity focusing on the topic of digital scams, titled “เดœാเด—്เดฐเดค”. The topic was chosen considering the increasing number of cybercrime incidents and the need to educate society about safe digital practices.
The video titled “เดœാเด—്เดฐเดค” was planned and scripted as an awareness initiative. It highlighted how rapid digitalization, though beneficial, has also led to various forms of online scams such as fake bank calls, OTP fraud, phishing links, online shopping scams, and fraudulent job offers. Through simple real-life situations and narration, the video conveyed how people unknowingly fall victim to such scams due to fear, urgency, or lack of awareness.
The content of the video emphasized common warning signs of digital scams, such as unsolicited calls asking for personal details, messages promising rewards, and suspicious links. Preventive measures were clearly explained, including not sharing OTPs or passwords, verifying the authenticity of messages, and avoiding unknown links. The video also stressed the importance of cyber safety habits like using strong passwords and reporting cybercrime to official authorities.
This activity encouraged students to play an active role in spreading awareness, especially among parents and elderly members of society who are often more vulnerable to digital fraud. The video promoted responsible digital citizenship and highlighted the role of education in building a safe digital environment.
The implementation of this activity helped student teachers develop skills in content creation, digital communication, and social awareness. It also reinforced the relevance of Social Science education in addressing contemporary societal issues. The use of a video and blog format made the learning experience engaging, creative, and impactful.
In conclusion, the  video script “เดœാเด—്เดฐเดค”, conducted as part of the B.Ed curriculum by the Social Science department, successfully fulfilled its objective of educating and sensitizing viewers about digital scams. The initiative contributed to academic learning as well as social responsibility, making it a meaningful and relevant educational experience.
