As part of our ongoing community service initiatives, the NSS unit organized a Pothichor Distribution Programme on October 8 at the Poovatur Family Health Centre. The event reflected the spirit of selfless service and humanity that lies at the heart of NSS.
The volunteers enthusiastically prepared and packed traditional meals wrapped in banana leaves (pothichor) with the aim of supporting patients and their attendants at the centre. The initiative reflected the NSS spirit of service and teamwork, as students worked together to ensure every packet was distributed with care and compassion.
The programme created a sense of joy and satisfaction among the volunteers as they experienced the value of sharing and empathy. The staff and patients at the health centre expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. This activity not only helped those in need but also strengthened the volunteers’ understanding of the NSS motto — “Not Me, But You.”
